I have always been extremely intrigued my Mike and was really looking forward to this. But there was nothing special about it. Meaning that if you a decent amount about Mike already, this film told you absolutely nothing new about him that you didn't already know.

Hoop Dreams is one of docs that goes beyond its core subject matter and into something far deeper as it involves the triumphs and hardships of both players' families as well as their own and how they try to support each other through it all. It really is one of the most deeply moving stories that I've ever seen.
