Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing in some movies (My Left Foot, Gangs of New York), but he also has a tendency to overact (There Will Be Blood) or choose really mediocre movies (The Ballad of Jack and Rose).
I prefer Ed Norton, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, and Leonardo Di Caprio (I imagine I am going to catch some heat for this one, but he is a very good actor, and he can pull off a lot of different characters).
Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel are very good actors, but they essentially play the same role in 90% of their films. Also, Pacino has become nothing more than a caricature of over-acting.
