The acting was good and Viola Davis held her own with some of the best actors in the business.

You say this like she is someone who starred in a saved by the bell episode or something and finally got their break in a movie…

Viola IS one of the best actresses working .

I just saw this last night and really enjoyed it as did most people in this thread, two things I want to add a discussion

1. I’m guessing Phil Knight is not a fan of this movie or at least how he was portrayed. He comes off as an airhead, out of touch, and really kind of an idiot

2. Phil Knight, MJ, and pretty much everybody else involved in the story claim that Sonny Vaccaro really didn’t have much to do with convincing Jordan to sign with Nike. He came up with the idea of creating a shoe specifically for him, but he wasn’t the primary salesman to the Jordan family. Vaccaro says that they are all full of shite and are trying to take credit away from him.

Jordan said it was George Raveling (Sonny’s coach friend), that convinced him to sign with Nike. Interestingly, George and Sonny had a falling out and hate each other now.

But whether the story is embellished or not, it’s a great movie.

I have my own theory on why Jordan isn't shown in the movie

I'm positive 60 year old Michael Jordan read the script and wanted to play 20 year old Michael Jordan, and somebody said maybe with CGI we can make that and MJ the diva he is said "Would you tell that shite to Sam Bowie motherfricker?"
