Didn't Rochev steal his company in the comic too?

Yep, I knew she would do that. That is her main storyline in the Green Arrow comics. In the comics she fell in love Oliver's dad, and took over Queen Industries because she felt she was Robert's true heir. She even wears Oliver's mom's wedding ring.

ETA: I think her comment to Oliver "like father, like son" (or something like that), was a nod to her obsession with Robert in the comics.

I know y'all discussed this at some point. But will someone explain to me the "speedy" nickname. First they make us think the flash was the nerdy kid. Now they give Roy a red muscle car and call him speedy. I'm lost

FTR idk much about the comics at all. Assumed Roy was supposed to be arrows sidekick not the flash

Speedy doesn't have anything to do with the Flash in the comics. Speedy was/is Green Arrow's sidekick (like Robin is to Batman). Roy Harper was the first Speedy, who ended up turning into Arsenal, then turned into Red Arrow in the comics.

While I just don't buy that slade would blame Oliver for Shado's death.

This fricking show gets better every week.

I just wish who ever is running the damn show could keep it on schedule. Great episodes followed by weeks off kill the momentum. This is why I usually wait for a show's run to end so I can watch it in my time.

Same here. It's not infuriating me as season 3 of Lost did but come on people. As mentioned, I'll give them a mulligan as they did have to re-film a lot due to Flash not showing up in the next two weeks anymore and because the show is awesome.

Bama did a good job of breaking that down as simply as possible too haha.

So, now that he's made sure Thea is safe, Roy has taken off? I buy it but what's the theory on his path now? He goes a more "Punisher" route and starts weapons training and killing bad guys? He seemed to not be too happy with Oliver's "do the right thing" path.

We also have Laurel now at a crossroad to either flip out and be pissed at Oliver, or accept it and get more involved with the team and start her training (which I'm leaning towards being the case).

I'm sorry but, purely in the context of the show, I'm not buying this or seeing how it wouldn't be cheesy as shite.

Another sign is given that Sara is dead girl walking in Detective Lance's little convo with her about not being able to lose her again.

It would be in line with the route he took in the comics. Plus he has the mirakuru in him that should make you more violent.

Yeah the more I think about it, I don't see her joining team arrow right away. It'll be interesting to see what path she does take though. I don't see her having full-blown Oliver hate, like her Arrow hate at the beginning of the season. That would seem redundant. They did hint at her going down a darker path in last week's episode. Maybe she's somewhat pissed/confused about it for the remainder of this season, then Sara gets killed, and she goes off with the huntress who trains her.

I would love to hear some other people's thoughts/ guesses on what path her character takes now that she knows the Arrow is Oliver.

I started to at that gif, but then the more a thought about it the more it made me want to

BTW...I asked this in a previous post, but am I the only one that thinks she looks a heck of a lot better in the past two episodes than she did in the 1st half of this season? Or is that just my mind playing tricks on me?

CW is doing that with all of their shows. Supernatural doesn't return until the 15th either.

As far as Summer Glau being Rose Wilson...it might fit the rumor that Nightwing is joining the show. There's history between him and Ravager...but she also hates her father in the comics.

no she definitely has a little more weight back in her face. she looks a hell of a lot better. she probably reads this thread and realized she needed to fix her face. You're welcome, Laurel.

As for her path. It's pretty hard to predict. I have to stick with the Huntress episode with Laurel and say she will go a little darker. I dont think she goes nuts about the info, but just feels resentment and alone, not hate. Think this drives her to go her own path and kind of abandon "team arrow" (until sara dies of course). My 2 cents.

Thea is definitely going with Merlyn now and will probably be his "speedy" as opposed to Ollie's. They definitely couldve held off re-introducing Malcom until much closer to this episode. Was it like episode 3 of this season that happened? No reason to stretch it this long.

Roy is a bitch and is getting annoying. Terrible acting and dumb story. Could careless about him. Probably going back to his "street justice" and will become Arsenal next season.

I do like that this is basically the "Peter Parker" type story. Whenever things go any sort of good for the hero, all this shite gets dumped on him. Oliver will lose a lot by the end of the season, which is good. It will give season 3 something to build on and overcome.

Bombs got dropped and its been a great ride. frick the breaks.

they are still filming the second season. I think Amell said something like we won't be finished with season 2 until late april. Also mentioned sometimes they don't have the final cut for the show until days before. South Park style, I like it.

I agree about Roy. The actor that plays him leaves a lot to be desired. I know his character is supposed to be extra angry because of the mirakuru, but he was acting like that before he had the mirakuru.

And speaking of the mirakuru, I'm starting to think that it is giving too much power to those who have it. Not only does it give the people super strength, but it apparently healed and kept Slade alive while he was at the bottom of the bay (at least I think that is what he said), and it gives them super senses. They are treading on thin ice in the semi-realistic world they have created.

And also, did I hear Thea right when she accused Oliver of holding the secret for years before she revealed that the secret was Malcolm being her dad(which made me think even more that Slade had told her he was Arrow)? Oliver has only known for probably no longer than a month or two in their time.

The one way I think they could save this is that the mirakuru that the others have been injected with was an attempt to recreate it from Slade's blood. So it potentially could not be the exact same formula he was injected with.
