Amber Heard as Mera........ My god she's so gorgeous it just kills me.

Gotta say that I really like Jason Momoa. He's a man's man and his general attitude is absolutely contagious. That's what masculinity looks like.

Now the movie was really good, especially for a DCEU movie. It didn't take itself too serious but still kept things heavy enough to make clear what was at stake.

The good guys were clearly good, and the bad guys were clearly bad. They stayed completely in character for them according to the source material, there was a struggle for each other and one side clearly prevailed.

It's a classic good vs evil movie.

It's a good step in the right direction for DCEU. Congrats to them.

I liked it a lot, Momoa was great. The villains were good and you understood their motivations. Black Manta was perfect.

Did you stay until the end of the credits, was there an end credits scene? I saw the mid credit scene, but left soon after.

Really hoping this does well enough to get a sequel.

Edit: and yes, Amber Heard was hard to look away from.

There was no after credits scene.

Another thing I really enjoyed about this movie is that it is completely devoid of any artistic, sound, plot, mood and environmental element that Zack Snyder would've given us.

Ahh, such a refreshing change of pace from that one trick pony hack.

From the previews it looked very Marvelly in style.

Did it have that kind of humour balancing seriousness?

Have the DC folks (post snyder) finally figured things out a bit perhaps?

With Wonder Woman and now Aquaman and Shazam they seem to be going in the right direction. And with the announcement of Blue Beetle and Plasticman, DC could have a dang good library going.

Let's see if they can keep this up for Shazam as well but knock on wood I think maybe it looks like they're headed in the right direction.

Now if they can just figure out what they're going to do with Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. In all likelihood, they're probably going to part ways with Affleck and Cavill has the much better chance of staying on as Superman.

By the way, as much shite I've given Zack Snyder, I've always conceded that his artistic and action style really works well with Batman as Snyder's style compliments Batman well and I wouldn't be upset at all to see DC retain his services for that character to run the action scenes maybe have some input on the mood as well.

But they're still missing a golden opportunity to build their universe around THE leading character in Superman.

Marvel basically built theirs around Captain America who is also THE leading character and they should do the same with Superman as well.

Others may disagree with Cap being that but that's how I feel about him in the MCU.

It looks like they're purposely going away from the "dark" reputation DC movies have had.

That was the problem with Zack Snyder's one size fits all approach of bleak, dark and gloomy. It only works with characters like Batman, Wolverine, Punisher or Venom.

It does not work with characters who are the very essence of color like Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Spiderman and so on. Those are bright and sunny people and trying to force them into that one size fits all approach was one of the most tone deaf things ever done in Hollywood history and the results of that really showed up at the box office and audience and critic reviews.

Just got out. I liked half of it, I didn't like the other half. Mamoa is awesome. His adventure scenes with Mera are a lot fun, although Heards acting could be much better.

I know that the movie had to be mostly CGI, but I still couldn't help but cringe at a lot of the underwater scenes. Some were just so bad. I was trying so hard not to bust out laughing. Still, there was a lot of good here and I would recommend it to people.

Agreed, she's simply stunning. I just don't understand why they felt the need to use that lame wig. Why not just keep the same look she had in Justice League?

She didn’t use a wig in that one too?
