Anybody seen Hope Springs w/ Merryl Streep ?

I just saw this. Usually not my kind of movie but it wasnt my choice. Good movie. Streep and Tommy Lee Jones were both very good. Steve Carrel was good too although his part didnt encompass much.
Meryl Streep has got to be the best Actress around.

You probably dont like the way she looks, but she is definately a great actress and can play a wide range of roles.

I've never liked her. She's always epitomized the classic definition of an acting school performance -- always the right mannerisms, never the right manner.

Yeah, I saw it. I was in the same boat, wife picked it out. I actually liked it. The plot kept my attention the entire movie.

I'm one of the few who really like her as an actress. Haven't seen this one, but will.

I can't stand her, but why would you say this? She's won about 16 Oscars, has millions of fans who pay to see her movies, and is a favorite of most reviewers

This. We were the youngest people in a pretty crowded theater by about 20 years despite being in our late 20's.

She wins many awards and seems to be the darling of the critics and Hollywood, but out here in the real world all I hear from people is how much they hate her and think she sucks as an actress. I've loved her from the days of Kramer vs. Kramer all the way to Julia & Julia. Bridges of Madison County gets panned everywhere, but it touches my heart. She might not be young and thin and beautiful anymore, but to me she is a wonderful actor. Possibly because I'm older and female. ;-)

Nah. I'm a guy and I like her. Don't forget silkwood. I don't recall a movie she was ever bad in.
