He was definitely cool early on in the show. But as the show went on he got more and more love sick and desperate It seemed.
His character went in the same path that Shawn Hunter in Boy meets World went on.
Ladies man and cool to emo, heart broken and whipped.

Meh, Cappie's character did evolve as the show progressed, but he remained one of my favorites over the span of the show. I liked Dale as well. His character definitely changes for the better.

I really enjoyed it. The Cappie/Dale relationship and interactions that evolves is hilarious.

Dale's character change was the best to me. He was awesome in the show in the last two seasons.

Yeah, I'll admit that he didn't go down that road as bad as Shawn did. But he definitely developed a pretty deep emotional side to him as the show went on. A lot of that could come from him growing up and maturing through the end of his college years. He went from not going to class, partying all the time and not caring to then sort of caring about what path he was on.
But the only reason he cared was because he was whipped by Casey. Even when he was with Rebecca he was always whining about Casey. She had him by the balls and it got worse as the show went on.
But I liked his character to be honest. Definitely liked him more than that douche Evan. I was glad to see him end up "accidentally" graduating and together with Casey. I think they were moving off to Washington DC together.
