I'm 2 episodes in because of this thread and I'm hooked.

I encourage you to read a history book.
And I encourage you to open your fricking eyes lol. Atlas Shrugged is something I could suggest, since we’re making book recommendations

Just recently watched. thought it started off incredible but kind of waned towards the end.
Being fair, the material does that… Starts off with the Boston Massacre, then Revolution, building America.
Ends with old retired Adams.
Series is fantastic

Watched the first 2 episodes last night. Maybe I was a little drunk from July 4 festivities but I was drifting in and out. Also in episode 1, is that the smallest penis ever shown on tv? I feel bad for the actor. I wonder if they specifically looked for a fantastically small penis to film.

After Ken Burns' Revolutionary War, I finally got my wife to watch John Adams with me. With all of that history fresh in our minds, the casual mentions in Adams of the critical battles of the war really stood out. As with HBO's Rome, where they didn't have the time or budget to show the battles, so they'd have troops walking by describing the phenomenal battle they'd just endured.
And yeah, Giamatti and Dillane kill it as Adams and Jefferson.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve used “Facts are stubborn things” at work. I know Adams really said that, but it’s still a powerful statement.

That part where he's an ambassador in Europe is boring. The rest is fantastic.
