When did these singing competition shows jump the shark? The whole concept has just its novelty and appeal to me.

I would buy a Caleb CD but the rest of the top 10 no way. I'm more of a country fan but still love rock, I grew up in the 70's. Jena's style of music does nothing for me.

she could totally have a Paramore-ish or No Doubt-ish album. I don't know what Caleb is going to do. The closest artist that currently sounds like Caleb would be Adam Lambert, but I just don't think Caleb is as marketable as Adam.

Can we all agree that this thread being only 47 pages for 3 months states that this show has effectively run its course?
The ONLY reason I tuned in once a slot this season was to see JLo. The contestants were putrid, to say the least.

It was a pretty good finale. I loved Alex's duet.
The winner was no surprise. Jena winning would have been a shock. I didn't care who won between those two. My heart belonged to Alex and Little Sam.
I'm glad HCJ will be back next year.

Harry does the best job as a judge; he provides constructive feedback no matter how good someone does and that goes a long way to helping the singer get better. I like all 3 judges and Randy but could they ditch Seacrest please.

I would have been okay with jena winning. but, caleb sings more of my kind of music..
perfoming with paramore was cool....
but, how do you top performing with kiss !?!?
oh and the harry,keith,randy,jlo performance was really good... their fleetwood mac cover was the perfect song for them.

hopefully this group of judges stays intact... this is the best trio they have ever had.
