Majesty is doing good too

I expected so much more out of Sam than what he has been giving us. It was good, but not great.

This might be one of the worst seasons yet! With the Voice being so good, I wonder how much longer American Idol will keep going?

There isn't much positive to be said. Some of these people are not good.

The Voice has some experienced singers with albums even. Not the same show.

HCJ gave good advice tonight. He was dead on about Sam. His voice is there. I loved his voice tonight, but I found myself making facial expressions he should have been making. He was much less awkward than last week when he moved around the stage. That's not his thing. He's better being still. He's almost there. If he gets there, he'll be great.

Jess and Majesty were okay for me.
Alex won the night for me followed by Malaya and Caleb. I think Dexter or MK go home.

The funny thing is that the Voice has yet to produce a winner that is a commercial success. The closest thing they have is Cassadee Pope and she is still considered an opening act despite winning the Voice two years ago. She is the only winner to even have an original single make the billboard top 10.

I'm back to liking AI again with the judges panel this year. All three if them are critical, though HCJ more than the others. I think that's because he's really concentrating on constructive criticism in the short time he has. I like that he doesn't watch practice. He sees them for the first time like we do. I don't know why they let the judges watch practice anyway.

That is a good point; however, do you really think anyone from this group will make it big following AI?

It's a little early for me to guess at that, but I have a feeling Alex might be marketable and Caleb, quite possibly. Malaya...maybe... and maybe on Broadway or could be picked up by Disney with her crazy personality. If Sam gets over stage fright, he's got a voice someone could work with and some appeal. I don't know about making it HUGE, but some of those folks have a chance at a decent living and some notoriety.

it's funny how my opinion differs from most... i actually preferred this version of mmmkay... i like that she lost the hat and looked at least a LITTLE like she was enjoying herself.

I liked jessica, and caleb... i kinda like this version of malaya. at least she's not running around like a crazy person.

majesty i can do without.. same with dexter.

gina spelled jena is just another face in the crowd..took me a few minutes just to remember she was still there..

cj still seems like just a cover band singer to me.

the 2 young guys kinda melt together. would prolly call sam alex and alex sam if i met them.

I thought MK looked great. I just didn't think her performance was as strong as it could be and should be. I didn't think she was bad. I think she's in danger because she's been in danger before.

Oh, and CJ could also go home with that performance he had. It was a train wreck. I kept wondering if the music was off.

tough to say. I think Gina spelled Jena could have a breakout performance, as well as Majesty, Meatloaf, Malaya or Jessica. I'm losing faith in Mmkay and Sam. CJ and Dexter need to leave this week.

Last year, I wasn't fully on board with Candice Glover until she sang Love Song
I need a performance like this before I can pick my star.

HOLD UP-was that backup singer for JLO that girl Jessica Sanchez from a few years ago?

ETA: AND PIA!!!

My kids have watched this show religiously for the past 5 years. This is the first year where I find myself not liking a single kid in the group. They're all just so lame and goofy and already act like they've made it big. It's just not what it used to be.

Pia and Jessica were JLO's backup singers just now during her performance.

This band performing, Royal Teeth, they are from Louisiana. I'm liking this song!
