Criminally underrated. Mona was coming down those stairs was a little creepy and scary.

Yes, scared the crap out of me as a kid. How or why my parents let me watch that escapes me.
Was it rerun a lot on a major network?
Holy shite, you just unlocked a core memory of being terrified.
Wasn't The Gate where someone ended up having an eye ball growing in the palm of their hand?
I think it came on HBO a lot at the time

The Blair Witch Project deserves credit for a damned good effort. They just couldn’t quite figure out an ending that worked as well as the rest of the movie,
The ending is by far the best part. It was absolutely perfect with how it tied into the legend they had heard about how the kids were killed and having to face the corners and all that.
As beloved as that movie it, it is still pretty underrated to me. Younger people nowadays have no idea just how huge that movie was and the hype around it. It was as "real" as it could possibly be at the time, and with the internet in its relative infancy, they played the viral marketing angle perfectly.

Cool thing was The Sixth Sense opened a week later with their ending!
