Interesting...

But that whole article is rampant with hyperbole...just for some ad-libs which aren't earth shattering or extraordinary for actors.

Example: "It was just a simple improvisation but one that was unsettling and darkly brilliant."

Please.

There are two with Heath Ledger from TDKR which are worth reading. I didnt know Anthony Hopkins adlibbed the FFFFFTTTTHHH sound after the "Farva Beans and Chianti.

Nice link

Man the second "but why male models?" is one of the funniest lines ever to me.

Then the Cinderella story Caddyshack scene, that was pretty impressive.

I only knew of about five of those. Robert DeNiro in the mirror is an all time classic, props to him.

I'm surprised Ridley Scott let one go in Blade Runner. Being scripted to the t is his thing. "like tears in the rain." terribly sad/depressing line.

Let me help this thread out. This is Clips of 25 Greatest Unscripted Movie Lines. I think only one is not on your list of 32.

Helping the thread would just be telling the one that wasn't on the other list.

quote:

The Usual Suspects (1995)

Director – Bryan Singer

Christopher McQuarrie wrote only one line for this scene – “Give me the keys, you f*cking c*cksucker!” – it was up to the individual actors to deliver it however they wanted. McQuarrie actually plays the cop speaking with the suspects and both his line to Fred Fenster (Benicio Del Toro) “In English please?” and Del Toro’s reaction were unscripted.

According to interviews on the DVD, the laughing during Del Toro’s delivery was due to his constant farting while filming – boys will be boys.

I think a large number of the famous "improvised scenes" are made famous after the fact. I think most of these may not have been in the script but are rehearsed or made up on set before the camera rolls. Twenty years later when a scene becomes iconic, they add the whole "it was made up on the spot" just to add to the lore behind it.

I think most of those claims are horse shite.

Perhaps a measure of truth to that but the line in empire is 100% improvised. Keeshner just told ford to make something up and he'd shoot it. Ford hit that line the first time and it's a pretty memorable moment in one of the best movies ever made

I commented the last time someone posted this. It was good, I'm sure, but I don't remember it now.
