Wayne, O'Hara, Ford

And John Ford shooting a movie in Ireland
again the cinematography
And a very funny movie it still still makes me laugh
as innocent as the humor is
The scene of the meeting at the church with Marine she plays Demure and Spicy Virginal Catholic Redhead so well
and she was not

Always enjoy the fact that there are so many small charming moments in this film that are not typical of a Ford . Wayne collaboration
I think this is one of Wayne's better-acting efforts and shows that he actually did have the range it's just that he treated it like a job not an art
That's why he did so many and a lot of them mimicked the style that made money
Maybe the first action franchise
well maybe that would be Douglas Fairbanks
but yeah that's an interesting moment in the film
Also how the minister and the priest had such a friendly and collaborative relationship it was a snapshot in time before the troubles

Now I'm at the piece where Wayne is dragging O'hare through the countryside from the train station to town for the fight and it's they don't make good romance /action /comedy movies as good as this scene these days
