The Deep House was really creepy. Not necessarily scary, but really well done and creepy. It’s missing something that would make it an all timer, but the ambition and creativity is there. Kudos for the recommendation.
Ditto.
I watched The Deep House last night and really liked it. It wasn't overly good or anything, and it was filled with tons of horror tropes. But the fact that you take a normal "haunted house" type of flick and do it underwater, I don't know it just added a new element to it and made it feel fresh and different.
I do agree that if that's the top five horror movie then the genre is down a bit, but it was solid and I enjoyed it a lot. And I really liked the ending. Often times supernatural movies are so good for 90% of the movie, and then they fall apart at the end. But while this one did start to get a little silly near the end, it did hold up pretty well.
Spoiler....
And I liked that the main girl actually dies in the end and doesn't make it to the top. I actually called that as soon as she found the way out.

Them finding that couple in the basement was a legit oh shite moment with the creepy masks and the circle below them. I feel like if it had taken a more sinister/darker turn there it could’ve been a classic if that makes sense. It’s still a dark movie especially with the ending but it really had a chance to take off from there in a darker direction.

Spoilers.
Yeah I agree with that a little. The oh shite moment for me was when Tina was trying to get up the well and she turned around and the couples’ bodies were gone from the chains. I literally sat up and said “oh shite.”
My 19 year old stepdaughter looked at the TV when I said that and she was like “nope, no way” and went back to doing her homework.

LAMB was great I though. Noomi Rapace was awesome. The whole movie was eerie and cold. Iceland is beautiful.

Malignant and Antlers being top 10 proves it was a down year for horror.
Only 2 movies I saw on the list
They were both so very terrible
