Was just thinking of all the great comedies that came out in 2008. I never seen another year like it in regards to comedy. Everything went downhill after this year.

Step brothers
Tropic Thunder
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Role models
Pineapple Express
In Bruges
Baby momma
Semi Pro

Now do 2003, 2004,and 2005. It will blow your mind.

Basically any year from aboit 02-09 is the apex of modern comedies. It's no coincidence that they began to die right after Twitter became widespread and popular.

What?

If you are looking for a correlation/cause for the lack of comedies, just look at the big release of 2008—- Ironman

Unintentionally that movie essentially killed the mainstream comedy genre

Which one, In Bruges or Baby Momma? Could make an argument that both of them stand distinct from the rest of the pack for different reasons.

Yeah In Bruges is a dark comedy and Baby Momma was probably the weakest in the bunch.

I was talking about Baby Momma, that has no business being on the same list as the others listed

Yeah, that whole decade is amazing. My wife and I were discussing that decade of comedies the other day and how it's been really slow for comedies lately.
