I am likely in the minority but I enjoyed the remake a lot more than the original
But the original live TV version is quite good, even better than the film is some ways:
I like how Robert Cummings comes off less like Fonda's liberal crusader for justice than an ordinary guy uncertainly trying to get at the truth.
Also I prefer that the main guilty guy is just a normal guy, rather than the pompous arse of the film.
And I cannot stand that the Fonda version shows the defendant is a PR. I am convinced this was done so viewers would not think he was black.

The dissenting juror commits blatant misconduct that would have gotten him kicked off any real jury.

Totally agree. Just 12 cardboard archetypes slinging liberal mindslop the entire time. Can’t stand that movie.

The story is not great, but sometimes you just have to sit back and watch great actors do their craft. Similar to Glengarry Glen Ross. That movie is boring as shite, but I'll watch it again and again to watch one of the best ensembles ever.

I finally watched it this year. I was bored out of my mind. It is like the emperor has no clothes.
