WHARTON COUNTY, Texas — Bull rider Dylan Grant chased 8 seconds of glory every chance he got at rodeos across Texas and the U.S.

Last night's ride in Wharton, Texas, north of Houston, started like all the others with Grant's adrenaline pumping and the crowd cheering. Then, something went terribly wrong.

Grant, 24, was trampled by a bull named Commander after getting bucked off in the second round of the Wharton County Youth Fair Extreme Bulls event Thursday night.

RIP and condolences to this man’s family. Obviously a young man but I’m guessing 24 is getting up there in terms of being a bull rider.

He was only in his 2nd full year as a Professional. A lot of guys compete on a permit card while they are in college. He competed for the University of Wyoming until he graduated 2 years ago and got his full professional card.
