My senior year we all skipped for Senior Skip Day. When we showed up for practice the Asst Principle was sitting in the locker room with our coach. Told us all to go home since we missed school that day. The next day at practice was nothing but running.

Good for him and good for the seniors who blew a chance to play in the playoffs for a stupid skip day. Hope it was worth it.

Senior Skip Day was practically a sanctioned holiday at my school. I don't even think they held it against us for perfect attendance awards.

That's the policy here as far as I know.

None of the private and catholic schools in the NOLA area do.

ETA: Well, it's in the books as a rule that you can't.

When I was a Sr and took part in Skip Day, I, as well as the rest of the Sr players, were in no shape to attend practice by that afternoon anyway. Our coach realized this and held no practice that day.

There is a lot more to the story than just skipping practice that day. A whole season worth of story. Boths sides are just as guilty. A shame that a season had to end like that. There are other ways to be "re-paid" for skipping a day of practice that would not have put a playoff game in jeopardy.
