Hughes in for the 9th. That's what I was thinking.

I wonder if they are going to keep stretching Hughes out more and more to move to the rotation.

He is so good in the bullpen.

If CC, Burnett, Joba, and Pettitte keep on pitching as well as they have been, I see no need for him to go back into the rotation this year.

Joba has an innings limit of 160 this season

I love Hughes in the pen, but I this he and Joba may essentially switch roles later in the season.

I know. They should waive that rule if he keeps pitching as well as he has.

This is a big spot for Coke to come in. If only Rivera was as good in non save situations as he his in save situations.

I don't think that would be a good move long term. That is a HUGE jump from where he was last season.

If he is dominating in September, they are going to need someone to be that 3rd starter in the playoffs. Pettitte can do it, but if Joba is better, I think you have to go with him.

Either way they go I don't think I will be able to argue with their choice.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hughes, Joba, and Mariano in the 7th 8th and 9th in the playoffs.
