So I guess we can all agree that the "10" story was worth all the hype.

So if one player at SC equals a two year bowl ban and a loss of 30 scholarships then 72 UM players would equal a 144 year bowl ban and a loss of 2160 scholarships.

Im finding it hard to be surprised, given what everyone should have known after the 30 for 30 special, and i'm finding it hard to care as i dont see how this will affect th rest of college football outside giving FSU that much easier a schedule.

I'm a ULL fan and we're definitely not paying our players

FYI:

ULL is one of only five schools to ever get the NCAA "death penalty"

Just thought I'd throw that out there

I honestly believe that Al Golden was going to do big things there. That man can coach and I think you would have seen instant results this season. But now with all of this drama and possible suspensions of the players on the current roster that are tied to this mess, it might not happen.

I think it will effect CFB through the DEE angle.
This may have a damaging effect on the NCAA (as if they needed more for people to see it's broken). That guy sat on the COI for 85 cases. Called out USC and made some remarkable comments for handing down the ruling (we know now due to this story). This could lead to many changes coming in the future. IMO

I see this fallout being interesting to watch for two reasons:

1) How the media ultimately sticks with this story. This kind of stuff (abortions, yachts, strippers) could attract the attention of people who don't even regularly follow football. It will definitely capture the attention of professors and administrators. This could enliven the larger debate on the role of athletics at the university level.

2) How the NCAA responds. If this story stays in the spotlight, the NCAA response will be analyzed to an unprecedented degree. Regardless of whether Auburn was guilty, we now have USC, Ohio State, Oregon, and Miami publicly humilitated in the span of a single year. The last thing the NCAA wanted was added attention right now, and there could be considerable pressure for fundamental changes to college athletics, as a result. If the NCAA looks soft, its entire legitimacy as a rule-setting and rule-enforcing organization will be seriously questioned.

Well.. these violations are severe enough to where Miami may not (literally) have a football program soon. What happens to the ACC when Texas A&M and Florida State (or Clemson/VT) join the SEC?

The ACC will be on par with the Big East the day Texas A&M joins the SEC. When Virginia Tech is your headliner you got frickin problems.

They'll never give the death penalty again.

Miami hasnt done shite since they've been in the ACC- 11, 17 and 19 in the last seven years. Thats not as good as arky has done in the SEC.

They were going to be bad regardless of whether miami headlined the acc or not.

Virginia Tech and a miami that has no top ten finishes in the last seven years aint a whole lot better.

I'm SIAP, but I'm betting ESPN's 30 for 30 people are loving this summer.

I agree. They'll hammer them with hefty scholarship reductions and I could see them add the TV ban for a few years. To ban a team from being on TV for a while would be pretty devastating to the program.

I don't know... the TV ban feels like it punishes the opposing team fans more.

I've got a better idea -- let them keep football but demote them to FCS while keeping them ineligible from the postseason. FCS teams are rarely on TV anyway and it seriously neuter their program without outright killing it.

Plus, think of the epic matchups Miami could have with FCS juggernauts like Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman and Jacksonville. It would be humbling and entertaining.

With any luck, we'll have a renewal of the Miami / Florida International "rivalry" ... only with Florida International paying Miami to play them.
