I haven't watched but a few games here and there but the post-TD conversion rate has to be around 33% or less, correct?

Yeah. That’s why you go for 1 in first then do math in 2nd half. But the youngers on this site have to say go for 2 no matter what.

Pretty sure the 3-pt tries have comparable conversion rate, if not the best.

Smaller sample size on the 3 pt. I think you do that in a math only situation. Especially if behind 14 or needing momentum boost.
