There a post in this thread that you’ve ignored hundreds of times showing your “answer” is peak stupidity. Why is that?

How did the athletes own the means of production

The majority of major college football programs are at state institutions. The donations and revenue the programs brought in went to feed the beast. Football and basketball players were earning less than their market worth to support the collective AD.

in what way? because people are leveraging their talents to increase their wages with basically no restraints on their movement.

Some programs are taking in private equity

these should be club sports anyway.

A major reason we dominate the Olympics is b/c of the college sports system.

If everything but football and basketball went to club we'd start getting our asses handed to us and see a huge number of American born athletes representing other countries that would actually help fund their sports.

Kicking arse at the Olympics is one of the many things that makes the US look appealing to people in the rest of the world. You know, the whole winning the hearts and minds thing?

So of course we're to dump out of one of the easiest and cheapest forms of soft power we wield b/c some shitheads who demand a bigger bonus each year think every single thing in the world needs to make immediate monetary profit and if it doesn't it should be erased from existence.
