One of my best friends in HS is. He’s the #1 all time on Florida $$ list. Top 30 all time. He never does too great in the big one though.

Last Day 1 starting today, although you can enter for either Day 2 (abc & d) for the first two levels but you will be short stacked against other players and the blinds.

There were 3080 entries for Day 1c to bring the total entries of Days 1abc to 5217.

Day 1d will need to attract more than 3,500 players in order to break the record number of 8,773 entrants – a record that has stood since 2006 when Gold became the world champion.

So many fun personalities they would show … now they’re so much older or dead and for the most part now we are left with tanking euro-bros who are as much fun as a root canal

Yeah, old school had more personalities. New school is mostly robotic GTO and solvers based. While the new players are better, there’s no wild Wild West feel to the wsop anymore.

Your friend is legitimately one of the best players in the world. Sean is an absolute wizard. I’ve played with him a few times and desperately avoided playing pots with him.

Yesterday was a fun day. Glad to see Doug Polk with a decent stack going to Day 3. Patrik Antonious with a top 10 stack is also awesome to see.

I can’t wait to watch some day 2D today. Hopefully Hellmuth can run up a stack.

Late entry registration has closed and we had 10,043 players sign up for the Main Event. Total prize pool is over 93 million with the winner getting 12 million.

Yeah, it’s the insufferable, race baiting Maurice Hawkins.

I’m rooting for Tom Dwan.

You really couldn’t have scripted a better start to that era. Some good ole boy from Tennessee wins a satellite and fumbles through the main event, and ends up head to head with Sammy Farha, looking like he’s straight off the set of Goodfellas.

I wonder how many of those cheap aluminum-case poker chip sets they sold in the 5 years following that tournament.

Not a shot at your friend because it’s a great accomplishment and I’m sure he’s a great player, but just a rant:

All time tournament winnings is a horrible way to measure a poker player’s ability. You can be a schmuck who plays every high roller around and you are bound to cash in a few. You could be #1 in all time tournament winnings and be losing money when you consider entry fees.

Moneymaker has a solid stack so far. Him going deep would be awesome
