I don’t expect that to happen until he’s 33-34 IMO. I still think he’ll want to pitch as a reliever or a closer at that age too

The 6 man rotation a legit option. The Padres rotation looked lethal the first half of the season, until their rookie 6th starter (Gore) hit a wall and got dealt for Soto. The pitching staff's performance noticeably dipped for the rest of the season after that.

Even having a middle of the road 6th starter keeps the other 5 unbelievably fresh.

Yup, he’s getting north of a half of a billion dollars in MLB salary. A number never heard of before.
