Nice pics. I'm headed out there this Thurs, cant wait. Will definitely be taking a walk through the Rio, havent been during the WSOP before.
As for the Full Tilt $1 WSOP tourney, it actually goes extremely fast (well, for a tourney with 24k people in it). Starts at 1pm and by about 3:30pm you are down to maybe a few hundred, if not less than that.

I learned quick, that if you're not staying there, you can enter the Pavillion area(where the tourney is) through the backside of the casino and you can park back there as well. Saves you the time of walking through that big casino.

its a hell of a walk without knowing that lol

I wont have a car, so was just planning on taking the free harrah's shuttle over there. I assume it drops you off in front though. So its just a long walk all the way through the casino to get to the area where they are playing?

I won my way in the ME for less than $100 in 2006. It can be done.

Not too bad from the front door to the Pavillion. From the parking garage, it's a hike. There is a valet and drop off in the back of the casino for the tourney.
Tonight starts the 2-7 Lowball $10K Championship. Doyle Brunson's favorite game. Here's a pic I got last week of Doyle with Bernard Lee from ESPN doing an interview. Really cool- no one else knew this was going on in a back corner. Just me, ESPN crew and Doyle are there. I think Doyle uses that scooter to avoid being stopped and harrassed. He really moves on that thing around the casino.

2-7 Lowball Championship, Billy Baxter, The Lowball King still alive with 26 left. Such a fun game.

Billy Baxter, just may be one of the sharpest dual pro gamblers ever?
He is everybit the giant that he is in Poker, in the world of Sportbetting too. An absolute monster handicapper at Boxing, Golf, Football and Basketball halftime wagering(he's often the one that moves the opening halftime numbers to the biggest games)..
While Howard Lederer, Doyle, Dewey, and Chip before passing away, were very good and powerful sportsbettors many years ago, and still can move the numbers with their net worths and hired help to cap/move money..they are old, set, and distracted.
It's Baxter, whom is also a great friend of Billy Walters..that is an eagle eye when dialed into sports. But, he too, is aging, and on auto-pilot vs his former glory.
Still, BB is truly a legend!

From the early 1980s to late 1990s, Chip Reese and his crew, were one of the 10 to 15 largest sportsgamblers/syndicates in the sportsbetting world. Moved hundreds of thousands per game to MLB, NFL, NBA, and NCAA.
But, he, BB, BW, Doyle, Dewey are so tight, no telling how much of it, or whom's it was, at times. They pooled together on lots of things.
That's why it's often labeled 'organized crime'.
