watch it in real time, the pictures don't show the whole story. :48 second mark like mentioned above. You can clearly see him trying to turn his shoulder and body into the hit.

Was it just me or did anyone else find it obsurd that they were blaring CCR, Matchbox 20, and Kid Rock while they were attending to a possiblt seriously injured Willis McGahee? I thought it was completely classless and don't recall ever seeing anything like that.

did the same thing when big ben was down a few weeks ago

That angle just shows me that he lead with his head and kept his arms inside his stomach and put all his energy behind hishead....

TO ME it looks like he is almost diving with his head through him

So if you are so convinced that it was dirty what should be/been done about this? Should the refs not given the fumble Or a fine to clark.

likewise, but I just don't see how you can't understand the angle/impact if you ever played the game.

If you keep watching it you will notice McGahee hesitated more than Clark did, he slowed down and Clark kept the same speed. Once committed you can't control what happens after that, if McGahee ran through the hit it would have had a different outcome and I doubt we'd even be talking about it right now.

I've played both HS and college, I'll say it simply like I did yesterday, you don't lead with your head or else someone would be paralyzed, you can see Clark bracing for impact with his shoulder, their heads collided because of the force of impact and because McGahee was leaning forward with his head , also.

I just see that he lead with his helmet. To me, he anticipated that he was going to hit with with his helmet.

I think if you could take McGahee out and just look at Clarks movement, I think it would look like whatever he is hitting....he hitting with his crown of the helmet

Thats what Im saying....I dont think it was dirty...but stupid tackling that he was leading with the head.

I think the rule is to protect the defender

do you think if this hit happened 15 or even 10 years ago, we'd even be discussing if it was legit or not? I think it was a great hit and Ryan Clark did what he had to do to help his team. He wasn't head hunting or trying to kill anyone, he was just playing hard. Period. The only thing he could have done different was just get ran over.

No you originally were saying this:

No, leading with the helmet....using the helmet as a weapon...he didnt even try to wrap up

not Clark bracing for impact with his shoulder.

Again, at THAT point when a receiver is catching the ball and you're the Steelers playing the ravens and trying to set a tone, do you go for the tackle or try to seperate the receiver from the ball?

they both collided from a hard collision as simple as that, I've been in collisin like that and you can't help but butt heads, and i had to be helped to the sidelines after tellin the trainer "what time to I go to sleep". It is what it is a hard hit, nothing more, IMO.
