Wouldn't New Orleans like to have a professional baseball team?
The smallest current MLB tv market is Cincinnati, the 37th biggest tv market in the US. New Orleans is #50.

To answer your question: yes, but it isn’t realistic, unfortunately. The New Orleans Crescents would be chocolate brown, Shamrock green, and Alice blue.

Thats not what would happen. All teams would get imperceptibly shittier.

Disagree. The world population is larger. The amount of kids playing sports and really training and playing at a high level is much, much larger these days across all sports. I believe the depth in a talented player pool is there to support expansion in all sports without seeing much if a decrease in quality of play.

NBA I think still has a deep enough talent pool to add a few more teams. They’ll want to get into Vegas and a team in Seattle.

MLB will likely move existing teams rather than expand. (Montreal, Vancouver, Nashville, Charlotte, Portland, Las Vegas, San Antonio/Austin)

NFL seems open to expansion with the forays into London and Mexico City. The Jags, Chargers, Bengals may soon be ripe for a move, so relocation may be the course rather than expansion.

Not sure STL wants any part, except money from the lawsuits, of the NFL anymore.
