Will we ever see an expansion of leagues at the pro level again?

The Big 3 consisting of the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Will there ever be another expansion of any of the leagues again. There’s talk of moving the Jaguars to London at some point in the future, but no expansion. I personally believe that the MLB will expand in a few years. What say you?

I feel like all leagues are maxed out. More teams added would be massive overkill

All 5 of the major pro leagues in the US will expand at some point.

Hockey has literally just awarded expansion franchises

Baseball has been openly talking about it for a while now

Baseball doesn't need one, talent is already diluted enough as is.

Seattle is supposed to be getting an NHL team soon I think. They're also trying to bring back the Supersonics through expansion.

The NFL seems to be eyeing international expansion into London but that seems foolish to me. If they want to go that route, Canada makes more sense right now.

Other leagues are definitely maxed, but I could see the Majors expanding to 32. I would say Montreal and Portland/Vegas

I’d love to see Montreal get the expos back, but maybe move Tampa or the Marlins there

MLS was at 19 teams in 2014, has 26 for 2020 and will be at 30 for the 2022 season

Expansion is going to happen in MLB. It’s only a matter of when. Manfred has discussed expanding numerous times over the past several years and I’ve always thought expanding the playoff field was put in place with expansion in mind. They could easily revise the current playoff format to four division winners with the division winner with the worst record playing a Wild Card team in the play-in game. I personally don’t want to see it happen but I think it’s inevitable that it will.

Well yeah, I know the leagues want money, but adding more shite teams is going to hurt the overall product.

If the Raiders get enough local support in Vegas, I could see the NBA expanding to 32 by adding teams in Vegas and Seattle.

Stop with the bullshite of NBA being a big3.

They made 1 billion more than the NHL, and less than 5 ish billion than MLB. They aren't a big anything, they are the next level sports leagues, with NHL .

fricking NBA donks and their disillusion views on the league.

Among the 50 most Valuable sports team in the world.
26 NFL Teams
9 NBA Teams
7 MLB Teams
0 NHL teams
(the rest are soccer)

the NBA is in the big 3 of US sports leagues.

They are not the NEXT LEVEL with the NHL.

I think there’s enough star and supporting talent in the NBA to do it. It would help further separate the stars from the role players, actually which is good for marketing since the NBA is mostly about individuals, duos and trios.
