The defense gave up 39 to the Giants (a record at the time I believe)

Team led 10-9 at half apparently they were doing pretty good to the point Rutledge converted that 4th and 1 fake punt in the 3rd quarter

42 to the Redskins (a new record I believe)

Can definitely pin the 35 point 2nd quarter on the D but once Washington started scoring, this Dan Reeves offense you promote and elevate over the Broncos D kept going 3 and out and Elway kept either throwing incompletions or interceptions so its just as much their fault plus a 5 TD 2nd quarter is one of the flukiest moments in the history of sports, never happened before never happened again, can't put too too much stock in that

55 to S.F. (a new record I believe.)

Lets be honest: we're talking about one of the all-time great single-season teams in football history playing those Broncos with an all-time QB coming off an MVP season among the best of all-time and it was obvious the moment the game started they just got their arse handed to them on a platter the 49ers were that much more superior as an overall team, is what it is talking about Jerry Rice and John Taylor as the receivers, man

His SB teams were:

1st, 7th and 15th in total scoring defense during the regular season.

Out of THE ENTIRE LEAGUE, 30 teams IIRC, cmon man with the exception of the 15th ranked year you can't simply dismiss those defenses not many rank in the top 10 much less no 1 in the entire NFL in seasons those Bronco defensive units did there were not 29 defensive units that one particular season that ranked better than that Broncos D in that category THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN simply by the alleged Dan Reeves conservative offensive approach that allegedly dominated Denver's offensive scheme then with those sorry-arse running backs before Humphrey arrived, the evidence speaks for itself

I've already explained it...go back a few pages.

But #s mean everything to you if you haven't seen it.

But if you lived through it, you knew what was up...how Reeves coached, how he manufactured those close games. Because he knew he had the better QB in the end.

Elway would throw like 10 passes in the 1st half, he'd run for about 10 first downs himself on scrambles. Elway ate the clock and kept drives alive while his defense smoked cigarettes on the sideline completely rested.

When the Broncos came up against a superior defense, their famed defense was nowhere to be found. The minute the Broncos clock-eating offense under Reeves was stuffed, teams racked up points after points.

They gave up 35 points in the 2nd quarter in a Super Bowl. The Broncos not suprisingly had under 100 yards rushing for the game.
