KSU has an extensive list of coaches that have been associated with that program. Snyder’s coaching tree is huge. Somehow they hired Ron Price the first time Snyder retired. Leavitt & Venables were thought to be front runners a decade ago for the job.
Snyder has been grooming his son for the job since he came back after they fired Price. He’s turned over a lot of the day to day duties to him, and is hanging on long enough until others feel his son has the experience.
KSU saw how far & fast that program can sink if they hire the wrong coach. His son might be the best choice, but they can’t have Bill force him as the only candidate.

Prince was 36 at the time too. Raheem Morris and James Franklin were the coordinators in 2006. Not a bad first staff.
