Will BB players opting out of conference tournament be the new thing?

Similar to bowl game in football.

No. Anyone can still make the NCAA Tournament at that point.
Maybe a few will opt out earlier, like JJ. But playing all 30+ games and then waiting to opt out until the conf. tourney doesn't make any sense at all.

Good teams "opting out" of them might become the new normal if Gonzaga does it this year and has a big tournament run after.

Then good teams who are locked into the tourney will start sitting their best players for conference tournaments. All they have to say is "I remember what happened to Kenyon Martin".
