USC rumors aside, Andy Nesbitt believes Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars won’t be able to grow into a contender with Urban Meyer at the helm.

Meyer is going to USC, NIL and his coaching pedigree would have them in the Top 10 within 2 years

Meyer isn't going to like never winning

He goes to USC they are in the playoffs every year and he ends the HI pipeline that Bama has

Taking the job wasn't necessarily dumb, but cutting a semi-veteran QB, drafting kids based on high school recruiting rankings, and not addressing his O-line problems was dumb. He obviously has no idea how to run an nfl franchise.

Then again, Jimmy Johnson was 1-15 his first year... So there's that.

If Urban hires a retired or veteran NFL coach as a consultant to guide him and he actually takes that advice and changes his approach (something his ego likely won't let him do) and retools his staff, including bringing in a real nfl QB guru/OC, he may have a shot of being semi-competetive.

Lawrence needs a lot of work.

A lot of SC alums are pushing for Deion instead of Urban.

Is he replacing Eaux in Baton Rouge?

Or is Lane Kiffin headed down in ‘22?

Urban would kill it at LSU, but, then again, he ran from the SEC once and he'd do it again. He has to be eyeing that USC situation his only real competition is Oregon, who he wouldn't even play every year.

I never liked the hire. Meyer's personality and offensive style are very college oriented and he's shown he doesn't handle adversity very well. That's not the combination you want to lead an NFL team out of the basement.

CUM won’t go to LSU because he’d have to face Saban every year unless they don’t play every year due to UT and OU joining SEC.
