I think people hate it for these reasons (parentheses for some people):
1. See soccer as Euro-centric and un-American
2. Can't understand that people can like more than one or two sports
3. See the diving in soccer as bad (, but miss that it happens in basketball)
4. See soccer as boring (while loving baseball)
5. Not understanding the game
6. Not understanding the rivalries
7. Not seeing the best product

If you tell a baseball fan you dont like baseball because its boring the baseball fan will most likely nod and agree that it can be boring and that would be it..

No way. Baseball lovers go on rants and rants about how there are so many games within the game:

coaches outthinking coaches

coaches outthinking players

managers making slight adjustments to do such and such

There were many baseball fans in this very thread that claimed that baseball is boring. I have LSU baseball season tickets and I will also tell you that many games are boring.

Many soccer fans will say soccer is boring as well. Both sports have boring aspects; both sports have gmae within the game aspects that make bigger fans like it more. Using this "baseball fans admit its boring" argument is terrible.

You've just basically attacked trivial things in soccer, and attacked your perceived notions of the players to justify you unfounded arguments. I am still waiting for your guidelines for being a "pussy."

For the record, I am not a soccer guy. I saw an MLS game on tv the other night, watched it for a few seconds and said, "WTF." Like I said, I watch the World Cup for the same reason I watch the Olympics, and because it is the biggest tournament in the world that only happens every four years. But It bothers me when people attack things for no reason, and shut their mind to them.

That's the problem. Good soccer (Euro leagues) is not given enough exposure.

I love how you respond to everyone else's arguments and questions and leave all of mine ignored.

no

how many WBB teams are self-sustaining? 2? maybe 3?

the rest are funded by football and the general funds of their respective colleges

Why is this on the OT anyway?

Shouldn't it be on the more sports board?

I had already answered your question.. Im pretty sure I made it clear that its fun to antagonize soccer fans.

Nobody really gives a rats arse about soccer but soccer fans just HATE that.. people dont hate soccer they just dont care about it. But Soccer fans just cant handle that reality.

If I didnt see this post I probably wouldnt have thought about soccer for the other 364 days this year and that goes for most Americans..

No you ignored much of my responses, after I proved yours wrong.

Also, still waiting on the pussy guidelines.

And thats totally different from NCAA DIV 1 MENS soccer??

The sad fact is that more people in this country know what happened and who won the Women's championship than what is going on in MLS or who won men's soccer.
