I love how no one considers the idiocy of the guy Stallworth killed. The man was running across the MacArthur Causeway... a six lane motherfricking CAUSEWAY.

He killed somebody running across this:

It's not like Donte was drunk off his arse and went offroad and killed a pedestrian.

Hey H-Town, kids today should FEAR the dangers of drinking and driving b/c they are real dangers and people take them far too lightly. The kids should be cynical. And yes many people do drive drunk all the time, without consequences, BUT WHY SHOULDN'T YOU DO ANYTHING BUT DISCOURAGE DRINKING AND DRIVING. When you get behind the wheel drunk, there is a possibility that you or someone else could get seriously injured or die bc they were impaired. You don't think that this is something that kids today should understand?

And if I was a parent, I would hope that my child knew the dangers of drinking and driving and FEARED the consequences bc I would not want that child to take the dangers too lightly, get in a car and kill himself or someone else.

You have to wonder how fricking unlucky Donte Stallworth must feel. This is like getting struck by lighting but not being able to win the lottery.

That's what I've been trying to tell these clowns. This kind of shite can happen to any of us. Go out to eat, have literally a couple of beers with your meal and hit an idiot running across the interstate and all of a sudden your arse is in jail.

exactly. Something like this probably wouldn't be avoided even if he was sober. I guess the new MADD campaigns should be like "Don't drink and drive because even if you aren't real fricked up, some bad shite could happen and you're getting blamed for it."

well, it's a good thing Donte didn't try to run, you know like bring the car around the corner to one of his boys at the bodyshop to repair the damages, he did take responsibilty, so maybe the courts will take this into consideration, frick I'm drunk myself right now, but at least i'm indoors so i can frick myself up.

you missed the point, if you tell them the WILL die or kill someone else if they drink and drive and then they see people drink and drive with out so much as getting pulled over they will not believe the dangers are real, get it.

Drinking and driving should be discouraged, it can lead to horrible consequences. No need for stupid hyperbole and lies.

No, Donte is not unlucky at all. He made a stupid decision and now he has to pay the consequences.

And yes, this could happen to anyone, right. If you go out and have a few drinks at dinner and then hit a guy running accross the street, you are still at fault. You are the idiot who knew he had been drinking, yet didn't hand over the keys and in turn, took an innocent life. And you are the person who will hopefully be locked up for 15 plus years.

there should be scales. the .08 driver is not the same as the .20 driver. You don't get the same ticket for going 60 in a 45 as for going 100 in a 45.

the argument is a lot of people want a zero tolerance on drinking and driving, the point system really doesn't mean shite. In actuality I can have 2 beers and I'm not impaired in the least and a fricking teenager could be texting and driving and run into me......but I'm getting blamed for the shite. It sucks but that's just reality.

and hence why I'd be unlucky in that situation.

The lady the started MADD quit because of shite like that. MADD is close to becoming a neo-prohibitionist organization.

Zero tolerance would be such a strain on the legal system that I doubt it goes anywahere, maybe to .05, but that doesn't mean that we can't have different levels of fine and punishment for different levels of BAC.
