I kinda get why someone would wonder why major brands like Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State aren’t better, but it’s easy to understand when it’s echoed by the coaches that can’t practice inside.
It will be interesting to see if hockey becomes a bigger thing in the south with this stretch of success in Florida. It’s only a matter of time before that sport makes an even bigger impact in the Southeast.

It won't.

In my experience the average field in the B10 would be a average facility at a wealthy high school in the south while the SEC fields are as nice or nicer than the average minor league park in the north. Meanwhile attendance for college baseball up there is virtually nonexistent.
This is incredibly true. Boston Colleges used to just be bleachers.
It's also mega expensive for the northern schools because you're basically spending the first half of the season in Florida ( unless you're Minnesota who has figured out how to use the football dome)
Of the traditional big ten schools
Only Penn State/Nebraska have SEC quality stadiums ( shout out to Nebraska for having the most fun stadium to play in in MVP baseball 05). Ohio state and Indiana's are borderline probably would fit but would be lower tier in the league
Minnesota, Mich state, Michigan, Purdue have really well kept and nice but small stadiums.
Illinois/NW/Iowa are probably middle of the pack to lower tier Sun belt stadiums
Maryland and Rutgers are dogshit
