That's debatable. Florida played a much tougher schedule than Utah even before last week (USC's was a little tougher than Utah's). Where the cutoff between schedule and record is I am not sure, but either argument is understandable.
In USC/Utah's case it is a little easier to make an apples to apples case. Their conferences are statistically equal, the MWC was 6-1 against the Pac10 and Utah beat the team USC lost to.
