quote:I just think the safer barrier, the Hans device, and other track improvement have made the sport much safer than the CoT. Even Taladega and Daytona have turned into vanilla racing.
I don't really care one way or the other about the CoT, but if its much safer I'm all for it.

Meanwhile tracks like Darlington only have one date, and old staples like Rockingham are no longer on the schedule.

The truck series is returning Rockingham next year I saw. That should be interesting. Rockingham was always a cool track, just doesn't have the facilities anymore to support a cup race.
The only track that's been built recently worth a shite is the one in Iowa which I think is a 7/8 mile and has progressive banking. But again, its facilities are too small for a cup race.

4) NASCAR sold its soul for corporate money and now they're coming back to earth...
Point #4 caused:
quote:
1) They race all these shitty boring cookie cutter tracks - 1.5 miles of no passing. Meanwhile tracks like Darlington only have one date, and old staples like Rockingham are no longer on the schedule.
2) The drivers are in large part pussies more concerned about their corporate image than whooping somebody's arse when they get mad
3) Mike Helton plays a big part into #2
5) There is a lack of personalities in NASCAR. Nobody comes across as a bad arse who will whoop somebody's arse in the pits after the race for putting them in the wall. It's a bunch of whiny douche bags or a bunch of fake looking pretty boys.
Which is I said Nascar alienated their fanbase in the southeast by leaving the southeast plus changing too many rules to cater to corporate sponsors.
