I'm not even a Rodgers fan, but every year he has a soft, shite defense. Why doesn't Thompson play the market and bring in some quality free agents?

Even Belichick, who drafts about as well as anyone, knows you have to pepper your team with Free agents to fill needs.

It's weird that they basically expect Rodgers to carry the team every year.

Thought the same thing. That's a 6 win team without Rodgers

He is basically Bill Polian at the end of his time with the Colts. When Peyton went down, you really got to see what a shite roster that was.

I also don't understand how Dom Capers is teflon, then again his personnel usually sucks.

6 wins? More like 3 or less.

It is looking more and more like
Reggie McKenzie was the real genius of that organization.

The Packers have always had an aversion to free agency. There have been some free agent splashes like Reggie White, Charles Woodson, Ahman Green, Julius Peopers etc. but for the most part they've always just relied on the draft. It's a fine approach but they need guys that can properly evaluate the defensive side of the ball. You can't be giving up 44 points and expect to win in the playoffs I don't care how good your quarterback is. They got complacent in Favres later years too. Oh well, I just hope they address it before they squander ARs whole career

They are trying to avoid becomming the saints. The saints have gone out and blown way too much money of defenders in free agency and has burned them time after time. They have a top 3 qb and havnt made the playoffs the past few seasons. The packers draft and develop formula has gott them to the playoffs the last 7 seasons and just got them to an nfc championship.

Free agents don't really want to play in GB. At least that's what I heard on sports talk radio.

Our problem isnt that we dont spend in free agency. I agree with what we do on that front. The problem has been talent evaluation. Our last few drafts have been focussed on defense, but the talent just hasnt panned out. Nick perry, kenny clark, datone jones, damarious randall, and haha clinton dix have been our last 5 picks. Haha clinton dix is really the only one who has flourished. Nick perry is finally having a good year this year, but was relatively quiet his first several years. (Note that the one plyer from that list that has been good was the one sec player. Need to stop drafting pac 12 pussies).

Cheaper to build through draft

I would guess Green Bay is not on most players wish list. To get players to come, they would probably have to drastically overpay and then have salary cap problems.
