No I'm saying since UL "will never be a threat to LSU" and since LSU fans "don't worry themselves with little ole ULL" you go discuss something that should "worry" your fan base. Or you can just stay here and be a petty little bitch trying to tell everyone your hung like a horse and how totally awesome LSU a&m at BR is.

"Oilfield Tiger Fans".... Ohh trust me, I'm right there with you buddy. They're fans, but they aren't the fans I'll watch a game with for good reason. I'm not the type of guy who tries to categorize fans based off of their allegiance to the motherland aka Baton Rouge/LSU. Bottom line, I know who you're talking about, especially if you live in Lafayette like I do and work alongside some of them, hah.

Those fans are the most vocal. That really leaves a sour taste in some people's mouths. I have plenty of LSU fans as friends who I'll watch LSU games with and wish them well. They'll do the same with me. It's the vocal minority that gets people pissed off.

You are all over the place. Just calm down for a bit.

There isn't much discussion going on over here anyway. Both sides have their arguments and no one is changing their mind. I'd suggest going to a non LSU message board if you want to avoid LSU fans talking about how great their team is.

you make it sound like our whole fan base hates yours and vise versa. To answer your question, I really don't know. There's been controversy for a long time. I think UL fans back in the day felt that LSU was trying to hold back the other in state universities thus the bitterness. Over time I think it evolved to UL fans not liking the arrogant, a-hole LSU fans.

Did you see Bill Bentley doing the bernie while Hud was announcing that he'd be in the Senior Bowl?

I can see how they would hate the arrogant ones, but honestly it doesnt mean much to me either way, where ULL wins or not. However I have heard more people go to ULL and come back with stories of them hating on LSU than vice versa.

Yeah, I wouldn't take their comments to heart. As long as you guys keep pumping money into the team, I see no reason why you guys shouldn't get put on the map with the talent in the area.

LSU's stance has always been that the state benefits more by having a true flagship institution than spreading funding around to create a bunch mediocre directional schools.

Can you really blame LSU for trying to carry out their mission?

Blame the state's constitution which allows higher ed funding to take the brunt of budget cuts.

just come to this board after UL wins. every single week we've won there have been threads hating on UL from LSU and/or ULM fans. My main point is before you criticize those UL fans hating on LSU, find out why they are hating on them. Sure there will be some who hate LSU for no reason, but most of them have legit reasons.

Can you really blame UL for trying to improve their university?

Our fans are tired of LSU telling us to "know our place."

I don't want to argue this because I'm not one of those people that hate LSU. If you want to have that debate then ask a older UL fan that doesn't like LSU and maybe they can give you more info.

You see, THIS is the problem. Do you think LSU can only carry out its mission if funding is cut to the smaller schools?

Also, we're one of the 3 public research universities in the state. If you want to talk about cutting budgets, start with schools like SUNO.

The know your place argument is stupid. I don't see why you'd hate a school for trying to improve its standing -- academically and athletically.

ULM knows their place, they can have it.
