Again, outliers.
Again, you don't understand what the word outliers means.

For your argument to be remotely valid, you'd have to be able to list several guys at multiple positions (RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, CB, S) who were the best in the league at or past 33.
Why 33? I said 30 for tennis players.

Boxers with a heavy emphasis on offense and don't protect themselves are usually done by late 20's.

Ok, I'll play along, but I didn't say they had to be the best in the world at tennis, just why they couldn't compete after 30 the way they can in other sports. Here are a few that were pretty damn good after 30 in the NFL. Marcus Allen and Walter Payton. Larry Allen and Bruce Mathews. Bruce Smith and Reggie Allen. Steve Largent and Jerry Rice. Darrel Green and Deion Sanders. I'm sure a better list could be made with some research.

Care to explain the definition of outlier, and then explain how Sophandros used it incorrectly?

I once had a theory that both Mcenroe and Tyson flamed out early for this reason. Mcenroe was unquestionably the most aggressive tennis player to ever play the game. Tyson was the same way. My idea was basically that the mindset that is necessary to fuel that type of hyper-aggressive style fades away in your mid 20s.
My theory was garbage and so I scrapped it.
mcenroe flamed out because he took a year off to do a shitload of blow and be a celebrity, and never got back to the same level when he returned.
Tyson flamed out because Cus died, and then Jim Jacobs died, and then Robin Givens got in his ear and then Don King got in his and then he fired Kevin Rooney as a result. In other words, Tyson flamed out because he fired Kevin Rooney. I could probably write a 50 page paper on this subject. The unraveling of Tyson fascinates me.

Must you post three times in a row?
Outliers are observation that is numerically distant from the rest of the data. So something that rarely happens actually happing in stupid terms.

Bob Beamon going 29 feet 2.5 inches is an outlier.
John Isner beating Nicolas Mahut 70-68 is an outlier.
When random posters can casually rattle off dozens of examples of basketball and football players that were effective well into their 30s, those players -- and/or the ages in which they were still playing effectively -- are not even remotely close to anything that could be even loosely analogized to an outlier.
I thought people on this board were smart? I may have to go back to the Vol board.

Dude, you didn't have to post this. I mean, even the dude that doesn't know what it means probably has some idea of what it means.

So take your dozens listed's ages and then compare them to the mean of anyone who's ever played an ounce of pro, and then tell me they aren't outliers.
My point still stands , you're an idiot.

How about you do this instead, smart guy? I don't need an excel spreadsheet to tell me that 32 isn't old for a basketball player.
