After their performance last night, I'm going to say Duke is on their way to being the Alabama of college basketball.

There isn't one because it's really hard to win six games in a row to take the title. A great team can have one terrible shooting night in March and their season is over, and the best players only sticking around for one year makes it almost impossible to build continuity.

There’s multiple teams that I think can and will compete with Duke by season’s end. It’s one game. No need to overreact.

I don’t think I reach THAT far when I say that Virginia could slow them down. People have totally dismissed UVa because of their loss in the tourney last year.

You also don’t see teams sustain at a level on their own. One great player can change an entire team. There’s multiple teams that can land that great one. Football requires more than one.

You also have one and done going on. Duke is stacked this year. But when these guys leave, next year becomes another time to reload. Kentucky reloads every year. Kansas does. And this doesn’t even include Villanova...winners of two of the last three.

This is what makes college hoops fun.
