Who updates Maxpreps? Who decides Players of the Game for the platform?

The information provided, say for similar positions on opposing teams, seem different enough to assume that each school provides information on players…but no one is taking stats real time. Staff for each high school goes through all the film and pulls out stats for each kid? That’s nuts.
There are Maxpreps Awards, and I assume that’s an algorithm. Be insane for an actual person to go through every high school game in the country for each Award.

Your kid played great this weekend. He should be player of the game.

He got it…and I thought the opposing kid did better.

The coach picks a player of the game . I know that’s the way it is in baseball and assume for every sport

Ah, it says Maxpreps…player of the game, thought it was from the site. I checked the player on the other team and it didn’t say it, so I assumed they only gave one. If his coach would have clicked the button there would have been player of the game for each team…gotcha.
I’m new to this.
ETA: My son was NOT “Player of the game”…he’s our team’s ‘special teams’ player of the game…
ETA2: I see now that our staff gave Overall, Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams awards…the other team’s staff gave no awards, but they did kick our arse.

The school that Myles graduated from.

Generally a fan or employee of the school volunteers to add the scores, stats and other data for a game.

With a pretentious name like Gaston, I actually believe you

Most coaches put in the stats and in less popular sports are responsible for the score (JV football for instance)
Varsity football scores are usually pretty publicized and I’m not sure who actually “inputs” that info.
But going back to stats, it doesn’t take as long as it used to. Most teams have Hudl for film and when you “tag” your film the stats happen automatically. You just click the players name who receives the “stat” and Hudl creates a report.

I know they do have HUDL, but I’ve never seen if the stats match Maxpreps.
Never thought to look up his JV stats, he has struggled in those two games.
