I agree. Joe Montana is almost on Lebron's level.

Rice-inarguably the greatest ever at his position
Montana-arguably the greatest ever at his position

Imo--frick them both in the cornhole with a hot poker covered in genetically engineered fire ants.

They won 2 without Rice and 1 without Montana. So Montana > Rice

So what? The 90s 49er teams weren't nearly as good as the 80s teams were.

I was a Saints season ticket holder during the San Francisco dynasty. No one instilled fear of failure more than Joe Montana. He could hit a back or receiver in stride like no other. And he was Mr Clutch.

Drew Brees is the guy that reminds me most of Joe. Diminutive..yet deadly.

100 Greatest NFL Players of all time

Jerry Rice was chosen as the top player of all time, with Jim Brown as the second choice.

I would go with Rice, but it is very close.

Since both are GOATs amongst their positions, I think Rice overall stands a bit higher than Montana. Since I also think that Rice is #1 in all time greats for all players, it would be simple logic to conclude that Rice is #1 49ers player of all time.
