Paul coaches the premier college baseball team, while Pat has twice as many national titles while at Oregon State, which hadn't been to the College World Series in the 50 years before he took over.

Casey has been at OSU for what 25 yrs and about 12 or 13 of those years he never even made the NCAA tourney lol. The only thing he has done better than PM is win 2 championships. If PM wins it this yr he is hands down the top coach in college baseball. He's top 3 right now

Yeah took Pat 10 seasons with Oregon State before they qualified for the NCAAs meanwhile Paul led Notre Dame to the NCAA Regional his second year coaching the team.

, Mainieri exceeds him in win pct and national coach of the year honors

Mainieri took over the one of the premier programs in the country, Casey built one. I would expect PM to have a better winning %.

Earlier today Casey won the national coach of the year for the 4th time in the last 12 years.

I don't see any national coach of year honors except one on his resume, so you're gonna have to produce some proof. Facts indicate Mainieri's better because he achieved massive success at two separate programs, higher win pct, same amount of CWS appearances with LSU as Casey with Oregon, and Paul's won 4 National COY with separate programs. Paul wins another CWS, he's inarguably better because he'll have the same amount as Pat but with better career win pct. Also, we're downgrading guys with better success(higher win pct) bc the program(s) they coached were successful prior? That makes literally zero sense, you take coaches for their accomplishments and accolades and compare based off that not whether they coached a prior successful program, so we're gonna penalize the great coaches of Miami and Texas with better resumes for someone who "built" a program? I don't get this.

In a press release from Oregon State on Saturday morning, the school announced that Pat Casey had been named the Coach of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Casey has now been named the national coach of the year by at least one publication in four different years, earning the honor in 2005, 2006 and 2007 prior to Saturday's honor.

And took him 10+ years just to make the NCAA tourney which is no big feat which I would argue PM or most good coaches for that matter could do.

Also, Paul's the 20th all-time winningest college baseball coach in history, Casey isn't even top 50. Game. Set. Match.
