Football rule of fumbling forward out of the endzone being a turnover and touchback.

It's maybe a silly rule to start immediately in the 10th as opposed to 11th or 12th...but in a 162-game regular season? I can't hate it. Again, it's a tiebreaker As long as those quirks disappear in the postseason to ensure the game is won the way the sport is meant to be played, that's what matters. Almost all of the above (including the ghost runner) disappear in the playoffs This
This is pretty sensible. I think it would be better too if they didn’t start it until at least the 11th.
Of course, I also realize that ultimately sport is entertainment and they want to pander to consumers. While I still have fond memories of watching Rick Camp hitting a home run at 2 AM or have always oddly been attracted to similar weird things, I realize that most people would rather see a DH hit instead of a pitcher :/

quote:I would think it has to do with their getting to 2nd base not being in the regular scoring of the game. I don't know how they write it down when scoring the games, but there's no hit, base on balls, or stolen base, in the scoring, to account for the man being on 2nd base.
Why do you call them "ghost runners" when they are plainly visible?
