He was offered 6 yr at $156 M. Most knowledgeable Astro fans would have accepted that as fair, but also quietly hope that he didn’t accept it for the betterment of the team to stay competitive
Not one team to anyone’s knowledge has made a similar offer, and at this point, the Astros offer is likely deemed an overpay
This is reality. We as LSU fans want the best for Alex but his production has incrementally decreased since 2019 and could therefore be reasonably expected to continue to do so.
No reasonable front office is going to sign him to a 6-year contract at that number, he should have taken it. Boras should have told him as much, because he knows this, but Boras is and has always been about Boras.

So collusion, he is over 30 and not worth 25m a year

Over 30 and maybe worth $30 M for the first half of a 6 year contract and $20 M for the last 3 years
WTF does that have to do with collusion?

Teams are tired of dealing with him. I love Bregs but he isn’t a guy like Soto. The Astros gave him a great offer and he should’ve taken it. It wouldn’t shock me after all is said and done if you don’t see him shopping for a new agent.
Secretly I hope he still signs with the Astros and somehow they come out even better for all this.

Yeah, Boras is about Boras. If you've ever seen him holding court at the Winter Meetings it's obvious.
Owners mostly don't want to deal with him, and the players are starting to see that, a couple dropped him after the season last year.
