I don't know why people would think having 2 loses constitutes an asterisk (other than jealous fans of course). It was a full season, titles are for one particular season, and in 2007 everyone had 2 losses its not like there is some intrinsic standard.

2020 was marred by Covid every team (except mysteriously Alabama) had players either opt out or miss time due to Covid, how many guys was tOSU down in the title game? Good for them for winning and it counts but it can't go down as one of the all time great teams given the circumstances. 2009 is still Saban's best Bama title team (maybe 2011). I don't know that any team has had as much talent as the 2018 team that got boat raced by Clemson
