shaq was getting 20 shots/game at his peak
a guy like cousins only gets 14, and dwight got even fewer in his "shoulda been" MVP year
that's teh big issue

While I am a huge Drummond fan and think he is capable of winning DPOY many times throughout his career, I'm not sure he will ever have the offensive game to win NBAMVP.

Andrew Bynum could in the future. He has the skills.

People call me crazy but I thought Yao had a shot in 06 and 07 before he got hurt. 20 and 10 every night
I believed so too. I thought yao was going to be one of the most dominant centers in the league in an all around role.
He wasn't an offensive powerhouse and didn't demand the ball as much because of who he played with (tmac for example shot 20+ during the major yao years).
his highest was 17shots a game, but he shot efficiently at 50+% every year except for his first and last season (49.8% and 48.6% respectively). His free throw % was always 80+% which make some guards in today's age look retarded that a huge guy can shoot better free throws. great rebounder and decent shot blocker too.
I pretty much figured the "pure 7+foot" center era ended after shaq and yao retired...hell even dwight isn't even 7 foot

it will probably be a while with the neo-NBA rules and the changing dynamics of NBA strategy
That's why SOOOO many players in todays game would be failers back in the 80's 90's.

True, but Cousins plays on one of, if not the most "me-first" teams in basketball.
None of those guards know how to play winning basketball.
ETA: Cousins usage % is high enough to be an MVP level player, he is just to immature to be the most efficient guy in the league.
