another easy thing to adjust is on your follow through make sure you go all the way through the ball and make a complete turn

so a guy goes to vegas and meets this amazingly hot chick.everything is great and they decide to get married.
after they are married the guy says "well, since we are married i think i should be honest. i am obsessed with golf."
the girl thinks and says that is fine. after a little thought she says "well since we are being honest i need to confess something too. i am a hooker."
the guy looks at her for a minute then asks, "are you clearing your arms?"

Same problem with me. No matter what I tried....
My divots looked like this------> \
Tried everything, and came up with the solution. I no longer play golf.

Another poster suggested the video camera. I competley agree that this is the absolute best thing you can do.
Obviously i dont know your swing but, for starters a few things to think about that usually helps all ailing swingers:
Keep the left arm straight.
Rotate the left shoulder and point it directly at the ball.
Focus your eyes on the half of the ball that is facing you...
Hit the bottom half of the ball
release your wrists

i recently saw my swing on video, and was disgusted. i have some work to do.

i have never done this. i was a scratch golfer when i graduated high school. not saying its not great advice, just saying that you can get by.
that being said, i think it is time i learned to do that.

no doubt that you can get by without a "straight" arm. but as long as your arm is not bending during your back swing.
Younger or more flexible players are a more succesful in keeping that left arm straight throughout the back swing

yeah, when i try it i get really discouraged. it takes work, and up til this point i have been able to get by without it.
but like i said, its time for a change.

Discouragement ...........that comes with golf. At least with me and most people i know any way.
I didnt start playing until about 4 years ago. I played baseball up until last year, and let me tell you......That baseball swing is a hard sumbitch to break...
I would suggest limiting your back swing. Take about a 50% swing but make sure that arm stays straight.
Do you struggle with hitting it consistently fat and thin?

no, i have played since i was 5. have always been a pretty decent player. just never went the straight left arm route.

What is your handicap?

shite, i say a 10. but not sure if i can really play to that these days. mainly my short game.
if i played all summer i would probably be back to consistently shooting in the 70's. so if i kept a handicap i probably would be about a 10.
going to play tomorrow, i expect to break 80.
doesn't mean its going to happen thouhg.

Keep the club head outside the hands going back...make a complete turn with the shoulders...drop the hands and arms to the inside...without rushing...with a soft left hand grip and closed stance, this should produce a nice draw...
If it doesn't...do like Lee Trevino and aim forty yds left and play the slice...

You dont need to change any thing...
I went from an over 20 handi when i first started, to playing about a 10 right now.
I play well in waves....Golf is the most frustrating game i have ever played..
I would much rather face a lefty with a 93 FB with a dirty change up

consistency it the key.
my swind tends to get a little flat at times and causes problems.
i have time on my hands so now is the time to change things.
