You really think you could play any sport professionally? I know not now, but I'm under the impression that people are designed for certain sports.

I think to a point that's true, Vlade Divac or a football lineman are pretty much locked into their respective sports...but there are a lot of professional athletes that could have made it in other sports had they chosen to do so.

Really its to each his own. I don't get why this went eleven pages when the OP was answered on page 5 or 6. No one on this board wants to convince anyone that everyone should watch soccer. All I want to do is talk soccer with other people who follow the sport. This is actually a good place to talk about soccer because there are a lot of knowledable people, and other soccer forums suck.

saying you could have been a pro in any sport comes off as extremely arrogant

when you spend all day reading and watching stuff that never refer to it as soccer, it starts to creep in your head

What's so funny? It was invented in England in the 1800's; it was called Football, so I call it football. I mean is it that hard of a concept to get your head around?

As far as talking like we aren't Americans...? Are you dense in the head? Because we like a foreign sport and call it by its foreign name, we are acting like we aren't Americans? ok. It's funny how when Obama gets elected so many on here say that Americans are stupid and THAT'S ok; but because a select few say that american's don't like "soccer" because it's foreign is "bashing" them?

Get real.

could have been believable had you said maybe a college athlete in most of the major sports, but to say a pro? Come on now

So far we have learned that soccer fans are socialistic, nihilistic, and aren't American. Anything else?

that may well be true who knows...but in my mind I'll always think that I could go to the top. I'm cocky that way.

Trolling Man U fans is much better than other forums where they just troll other races/ethnicities/countries over and over again without any real discussion. You can actually discuss football (soccer), it's just your passion for Arsenal that makes you hate Man U.

what do you call a football(American)? if you wanted to call "soccer" by its real name, you would call it association football. and the term "soccer" is a British term, used as a slang word for association, so its not like Americans made up that term. the first known "football" game was rugby, btw

and don't bring Oboma into this shite

If you were a pro soccer player, who would you rather have on your team: Nakamura or Kuyt?
